Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel affirmed that the policy of threats, sanctions and pressures practiced by the American administration will not prevent Cuba from completing its course nor will it force it to change its course.
In his remarks at the annual meeting of the Cuban Ministry of Finance and Prices, the Cuban president denounced the "increasing aggression of the White House" against Havana, stressing that "the Cuban people and government will continue to resist any punitive measures taken by the United States" against Cuba.
Kanel pointed out that the Trump administration is "following the strategy of intensifying the economic, financial and commercial blockade with the aim of strangling the Cuban economy as it seeks to establish a colonial platform in Latin America."
Kanel had denounced last month's statements of the "aggressive policy" of the United States against Cuba, stressing at the same time that the restoration of relations between Havana and Washington should be based on mutual respect and coexistence, despite ideological differences.
