A car service for Hattenhofen residents who don't come alone for shopping or a doctor: Harald Ziegler wants to build up such an offer in the community. The model is the Landsberied neighborhood aid.

Hattenhofen - The service would be aimed at people who are no longer mobile and for whom public transport is too difficult, explained Ziegler (UWG Haspelmoor) in the town council. "I adopted the topic because I think that we need something in the community." At the recent Hattenhofen senior afternoon, he presented the idea. He received "great approval" there as feedback.

The idea is based on neighborhood aid in Landsberied, which has been organizing transport services for some time. The trip to the supermarket is a classic, other errands and appointments that you cannot do in Hattenhofen would also be included. If you have time and a car yourself, you can volunteer driving services.

Fuel costs could be paid through donations

"That sounds easy, but it is not quite so in the implementation," said Ziegler. First a pool of volunteers has to be built up, in Landsberied there are over 20. Then there has to be coordination. Ziegler would do this. Another question is the cost. An insurance would be due for the drivers, which the municipality could take over, for example - a few hundred euros a year. In addition, there would be the fuel costs. Ziegler would like to cover this with a donation account. The total could be distributed to the volunteers at the end of the year: "That would be the best way for me."

"I think that's a good idea," said Timo Wickenrieder (young voters). But he asked about the legal provisions. Because such a service would not be operated commercially, you would not get into the area of the Passenger Transport Act like a taxi company, said Ziegler. Hans Scherer (UWG Haspelmoor) pleaded for a kilometer flat rate that passengers should pay: "What costs nothing is worth nothing." It is about 10 to 50 cents per kilometer. Thomas Waldleitner (Dorfgemeinschaft Hattenhofen) also had to consider: "It should really be for people who have a problem to drive the bus." In Landsberied one had only good experiences, said Ziegler: There, out of pure comfort, nobody would Use driver service.

Volunteers should be targeted

Ziegler will present the project in the next community letter and start recruiting volunteers. So that enough volunteers get together, you have to address them directly and specifically, he said.

First information meeting: The community invites you to a first information meeting about the planned transport service. On Thursday, February 27th, 7.30 p.m., those who would use the driver service and those who could volunteer to come to the Haspelmoor sports home are to come. Further information is available from Harald Ziegler on phone (0 82 02) 23 07 or (0178) 5 42 00 41 or by email to haz@gmx.de.

More news from Hattenhofen: The community is now paying its employees a large-scale allowance. Radio mast on the Munich-Augsburg route rejected.
