Eli Moyal, the former mayor of Sderot, died Tuesday (Tuesday) at the age of 67. Moyal served as mayor from 2008 to 1998, bringing Sderot to the center of the agenda while the city was attacked by rocket fire from the Gaza Strip. About a week ago, he was evacuated to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon after suffering a heart condition. From the time he was hospitalized until his death, Moyal was in a coma. He is survived by one son. His funeral will be held tomorrow, at 4 p.m., at Sderot Cemetery.

Moyal's son, Idan, was staying in Australia while being admitted to Barzilai Hospital. He came to visit him with his mother and was updated on his medical condition. From then until the death of Moyal tonight, his son stayed at his bedside.
