When Moti Hezekiah, 40, who is married and the father of seven from Modi'in Illit, received the request from the lesbian couple to come and make a circumcision to their infant son, he did not hesitate twice. "A friend told me that his very sister, who lives in a relationship with a partner, is very worried - she wanted to make a proper alliance but feared criticism," he says. "It was the first time I made such an alliance."

Of course, this is a public issue that is a question mark and not a halakhic issue. According to Halacha, a covenant must be made for every Jewish child, regardless of their parents' identity. But at the same time, it can only be assumed that some ultra-Orthodox sectarians refrain from making alliances with spouses from the gay community due to the public confrontation and opposition to such relationships.

"What stood out to me is the professional part - that a Jewish mother wants to make a pact. All other things go sideways. Don't bother me what they do, I only see parents who want to bring their son into Abraham's covenant and my heart is filled with love. My brothers and sisters, my sons and daughters of Israel, and their choices, however difficult, do not hurt me. "

Although the halakhic issue is clear, there are technical questions regarding the conduct of the alliance. According to Halacha, most of the ceremony is conducted by men, and the fact that there are two mothers, with no father in the background, set a series of examinations that needed to be performed. "There were several discussions to pass the ceremony properly - who would bless the blessings and the like. The godfather was the father of one of the women."

Hezekiah says that the ceremony was particularly exciting. "No one felt abnormal there or wrong. There was a very exciting status. After the ceremony I visited their home several times because the baby was born expired and insisted that everything be fine. To this day I am in contact with the two, they send me pictures of the baby."

"Tell the truth - in the emotional face there is personal pain when it comes to people's decisions, but it is irrelevant. I do not fix a world or tell people what to do. It is not my mission. My mission is to bring a Jewish baby into Abraham's covenant, and anyone involved To him would be happy and happy. I would love to come to such other alliances. Will happily embrace any Jewish child that parents ask for, and irrelevant what the father or mother do in their personal lives. "
