Asked about the radical change between the team's performance in the 2019 Opening and the 2020 Closing, Míchel said that despite not having a bigger budget, Pumas can fight the first places because they have more work time . "For that (compete) you need an economic budget that we didn't have and nothing happens," said the coach. "Do you now have (money)?" Asked one of the panelists. "No, but you can compete because we have time now," Míchel replied.

Do you have economic power to hire? 🤔

" You can compete as we are doing. Because we didn't have time. When a team changes so much in the middle of the tournament, it needs to be credible. And for that you need to win games . The first day, against Pachuca (day 1), it was vital ", said the technical director of the National University.

Míchel González related that the good step of Pumas was anticipated since before the Clausura 2020 began. " We already saw that the team had modified its behavior. There were players who were being more protagonists and that those who came from outside were they fit well. Then we started to have illusion, "said the coach.

Míchel denies reactivating the Pumas quarry

Some young people like Marco García, Bryan Mendoza and Jesús Rivas have received opportunities with the first team since Míchel took the reins of Pumas. The Spanish coach said that the National University quarry is good and that he has not reactivated it. "Since we are here they have debuted about ten players. I have not brought them from anywhere. They were there. The quarry is good. It was there. It has not been reactivated by Míchel, who is me."

The Mexican Pumas players: Barrera and Mozo in Míchel's eyes

The coach of Pumas defined the Aztec players: " For me the Mexican soccer player is a soccer player with many technical qualities, with many physical qualities, but a part of the character that must be pushed ." In the specific case, he talked about the improvements that Pablo Barrera and Alan Mozo have shown in the first section of the contest. "I did not expect that level (from Barrera). He has had a transformation. Doing that (changing his playing style) with 32 years is a sign of humility and ability," said Míchel.

About Mozo, Míchel González indicated that he has improved with the passing of training and that he works hard . "It seems to me a man, a distended young man who does not realize things, but wants to improve. He wants to progress (...) He has always seemed a spectacular player, but every time, at giant's pace, he is defending very well his band. "
