Nora Cortiñas, a reference for Mothers of Plaza de Mayo founder line accepted the apologies of Alberto Fernández, after the controversy that he generated when he spoke of "turning the page" regarding the last military dictatorship, when relating to crimes against humanity with "the misconduct of some".

Cortiñas had criticized the president harshly, but now he backed down and accepted Fernandez's apologies and said "he would not say denial again ."

"Of course, perhaps the term was hard and I would not use it again, we are all a bit sensitive," he said in a dialogue with radio La Red .

"The President offered that when he was wrong we say so," Cortiñas justified about his first reaction to Fernandez's statements about the last military dictatorship.

It all started when the head of state dismissed a contingent of Blue Helmets and asked to "turn the page" with respect to the Armed Forces, noting that the new bosses left their schools in democracy and that it merits "that once and for all we all turn the page and celebrate, ”said the president.

That phrase had provoked Cortiñas' reaction and a subsequent apology from the president. “The word was hard, what happens is that here there was a genocide and you cannot turn the page so easily ; you will never be able to turn the page, ”said the members of Mothers of Plaza de Mayo.

"It was a gesture of apology, I thought it was very good," Cortiñas said and clarified: "I don't need to be called by the President."

Hebe de Bonafini was "completely in agreement" with Alberto Fernández's sayings about the military. "The Mothers Association of Plaza de Mayo wants to express that it fully agrees with what the President said," begins the text published on the official website of the organization.

"Their expressions were very clear regarding the claim of the new, renewed Forces, which Néstor, Cristina and Nilda Garré created with their modification of the curricula and military training," the statement continues.

For his part, Estela de Carlotto, head of Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo also supported the president.

"We are very old, sometimes we talk about more. She is a very suffered woman, a partner, has lost children. Years and pain could lead her to make mistakes," Carlotto analyzed. In turn, he clarified that "it is a thought unique of a person, not of an institution ”.
