Oberhaching - The traditional restaurant between the train station and the water tower has a long history and is still remembered by many Oberhaching residents as an inn “at the Festl”. Five years ago, after the property was sold, the municipality created a project-related development plan, which continues to provide a restaurant on the central area directly opposite the Deisenhofen S-Bahn station, as well as the maintenance of the beer garden with its large old chestnut trees.

Meeting point and place for local associations

After nothing has happened for a long time, an Oberhaching family has now acquired the property and plans to build a new inn in close cooperation with the community. As Mayor Stefan Schelle (CSU) explained to the members of the construction and work committee, it should become a meeting place for young and old and a place for the local associations, where perhaps the brewery cooperative Oberhaching could finally find a home. The aim is also to liven up the area around the station and make it significantly more valuable, especially since an inclusion restaurant is planned in the historic station building itself. In parallel to both projects, the traffic areas at Bahnhofsplatz are also being reorganized. According to the current status, the planning will probably take one to two years. The lease agreements with the Aphrodite restaurant are to remain in place until the start of construction. The manager of the restaurant was unavailable for comment.
