Syrian regime forces took over Kafranbel in southern Idleb province on Tuesday, one of the first cities to rally against the Damascus regime, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH).
Supported by Russian aviation, the regime has taken over this city and 18 other villages and localities in southern Idleb in the past 48 hours, advancing further in this northwestern province of Syria long held by jihadists and rebels, according to the NGO.
