Deontay Wilder explained that his hard defeat against Tyson Fury was due to the heavy disguise he used to enter the ring . "He had no legs since the start of the fight," said the American, who on Saturday suffered a technical knockout in the seventh round.

Wilder considered a miscalculation to wear his dress, which cost him the first defeat of his career and therefore intends to manage a rematch, according to Yahoo Sports.

And now former heavyweight champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC) declared to the portal that the costume in the form of raised armor, along with his full mask, weighed about 18 kilos , and by the time he climbed into the ring at the MGM Grand Garden Arena his legs already felt a compromising wear.

The Briton knocked down Wilder in the third round with a straight right and the American, who lost his heavyweight belt from the World Boxing Council (WBC), was not really stable again after the coup.

Wilder fell back in the third round in what was described as a slip, and Fury knocked him down with a punch in the fifth.

"The fact is simply that my uniform was too heavy for me ... I had no legs since the beginning of the fight ," Wilder explained, to note that in the third they no longer responded.

"A lot of people told me: 'It seemed like something was wrong with you.' Something happened, but when you're in the ring, you have to give it your all," added Wilder, who had said in his immediate post-fight comments that his legs were weak. "due to other things."

For his part, Fury demanded much less effort to climb the ring . It is that his collaborators raised the throne in which the British, dressed as king, entered the stadium.

On the other hand, Wilder complained again about his corner's decision to stop the fight in Las Vegas.

Fury was throwing punches almost at will when referee Kenny Bayless stopped at the behest of a battered Wilder. It was assistant coach Mark Breland who threw in the towel, and Wilder suggested to Yahoo that Breland will no longer be part of his team in new fights.

Wilder had already surprised with his costume. It was in the previous fight that he won against Luis Ortiz, last November. (EFE)

"We had many discussions about this situation for years, and the fact that he did this still, after Jay (Deas, Wilder's main coach) told him not to do it, is something that really hurt me," he explained in dialogue with AP.

"And then I heard that he was influenced by another boxer in the audience, which makes conspiracy theories in one's head quite meaningful. Why did he do it? It makes no sense, " he asked.

Wilder and Fury had ended in a dramatic draw in December 2018, when Fury stepped out of the ring in the 12th round to split the ruling.

Now, although a possible rematch is very tempting, Fury also has the appeal of a heavyweight unification fight against compatriot Anthony Joshua, who owns the WBA, IBF and WBO titles after winning his rematch against him. Mexican Andy Ruiz Jr last year.
