The Mammendorfer Gaudiwurm was not about politics so shortly before the elections, but only about fun. Around 3500 visitors watched the spectacle.

Mammendorf - The carnival friends did not let the gusts of wind and the light drizzle spoil the mood when the Gaudiwurm started to move through Augsburger Straße. In addition to Olching, Gernlinden and Moorenweis, Mammendorf is one of the carnival strongholds in the district. Traditionally, the train was led by the locomotive from “Jim Knopf and Lukas the engine driver” with Mayor Josef Heckl and Culture Officer Anton Fasching. Then 25 motif cars and 13 foot groups alternated.

An observation by an attentive visitor was: The world is still healthy in Mammendorf. Shortly before the local elections, not a single motive car dealt with politics. "What should be targeted in Mammendorf?" Said Second Mayor Peter Muck. "We don't fight in the municipal council, but afterwards we all go for a nice beer."

But there were tons of creative ideas. The rural youth Puch and Biburg thought: There is only one gas, namely full throttle. With it, the speed limit on the highway was presented in a funny way. The local boys' association consciously moved thematically on neutral ground. "With the topic of football and cheerleaders, we chose a completely innocuous topic," said Vice Chairman Simon Kern. The Adelshofener regulars' table "Adlshofa Amper Flößer Bier Club", which had quickly sneaked into the Gaudiwurm, used its motive car for its own sake: it advertised its raft trips on the Amper from mid-July. "We have been doing this for four or five years," explained Stefan Klaß.

Hattenhofen boys took part in four trains

The Hattenhofen boys were particularly eager this year. They took part in four trains: Munich, Untermühlhausen, Moorenweis and now Mammendorf. The topic: "Evil is always and everywhere," explains the lad's boss Maxi Dosch. It alludes to a bank robbery in Hattenhofen and a break-in in the athletes' home. After the one-and-a-half hour spectacle, which is also the highlight of the street carnival, the fools met on the forecourt of the community center for the big after-show party at the end of this year's carnival fun.

Several Brucker were also spotted during the move in Mammendorf. "It is a shame that there is no longer a carnival procession in the district town, although there are two large carnival clubs in the city with the carnival friends and the home guild," said one visitor. The last move took place in 2012 in the district town. And another city dweller with two three- and five-year-olds by the hand said: "We like to move to Mammendorf because there is not so much crowds and it is not as stressful as in Olching."

Member of the state parliament and councilor Benjamin Miskowitsch (CSU), who again made himself available as a first aid to the BRK this year, said: "We are more of a family move, where things are really still cozy."

The award

In the end, some participants were able to look forward to an award. For the motive cars: 1. Etti's Bayern Stüberl (Hattenhofen); 2. Dünzelbach with the theme "Lego"; 3. Mammendorfer fire brigade with the topic “Maypole; In the foot groups: 1. Alfinetawepe circus theme (Mammendorf); 2. KBV Mammendorf with "Munich in the sky"; 3. Basketball Mammendorf, cow bells; another 3rd Moorenweis / Purk, subject classroom

A car crashed into a carnival train in Hesse on Monday. Many visitors were seriously injured. Many people in the district are therefore concerned with the question of how safe the carnival processions are.
