Promote the development of 5G networks

The Innovation and Technology Bureau will release the "Hong Kong Smart City Blueprint 2.0" this year to further promote the development of smart cities. The Hong Kong government said that the world has entered the 5G era. Major telecommunications companies will launch 5G services in Hong Kong this year. The government will promote 5G networks. Development and application, including funding for network operators to expand fiber optic networks to remote villages, and opening more suitable government properties, covered bus stations and telephone booths, etc., for operators to install base stations and support 5G network construction.

Push one-stop digital service platform

The Innovation and Technology Bureau will launch the "Smart Convenience" one-stop personalized digital service platform in the fourth quarter of this year. It is expected that by the middle of next year, citizens will have access to more than 100 government online services through "Smart Convenience".

Promote electric vehicles

The Hong Kong Government will formulate Hong Kong's first roadmap for the popularization of electric vehicles and launch a $ 2 billion pilot plan this year to subsidize the installation of infrastructure in parking lots of eligible existing private residential buildings to facilitate the installation of chargers by car owners.

The Hong Kong Government is also studying the basic technical requirements and specifications of electric public light buses suitable for use in Hong Kong, as well as related charging facilities. The government will allocate 80 million yuan to implement a pilot scheme to allow green green minibuses on fixed routes to take the lead.

Elimination of EU Phase IV diesel commercial vehicles

The government plans to launch a new plan in the second half of this year to phase out about 40,000 EU Stage IV diesel commercial vehicles in stages and has reserved 7.1 billion yuan to provide preferential subsidies to affected car owners.

Electric Ferry Test Plan

In order to reduce ferry emissions, the government plans to implement an electric ferry trial scheme on Victoria Harbour's ferry routes. 350 million yuan has been reserved. The relevant departments will formulate details.

Smart Transportation Fund and Geospatial Data

The Hong Kong Government has set aside about 1 billion yuan for the Smart Transportation Fund to fund enterprises or institutions for research and application of innovative technologies related to vehicles. It is expected that the fund can be put into operation in 2020/21. In addition, high-quality 3D digital maps of Hong Kong will be launched in stages starting this year. The spatial data sharing platform will be fully put into service by the end of 2022. The Hong Kong Government also reserves 60 million yuan to establish the first geospatial laboratory to encourage Civilian mobile applications that apply spatial data.

Digitalization of Engineering Supervision System

Starting from the second quarter of this year, the digital engineering supervision system will be applied to all public works projects in stages, and 100 million yuan will be allocated to develop a comprehensive digital platform to achieve data integration and information exchange to strengthen project supervision.
