Big victory for Maj. Gen. Ziv, after a year of struggle: The U.S. Treasury on Wednesday lifted sanctions on Gen. Ziv after another, who allegedly traded arms in South Sudan. An investigation by the Defense Ministry and the United Nations found nothing in the allegations.

The US Treasury Department announced an immediate and complete lifting of the sanctions imposed on Maj. Gen. Ziv and the Global Group he owns for unproven allegations of unauthorized arms trafficking in South Sudan.

Following an administrative proceeding with the Foreign Assets Department of the US Treasury (OFAC), Maj. Miliviv and the Global Group he owns were completely removed from the SDN list and sanctions imposed on them. The sanctions were imposed on his alleged involvement in unauthorized arms sales activities, as part of the battle between the parties in South Sudan, under the auspices of an agricultural farm project he established and managed there. The source of these allegations and the factual basis upon which they relied, despite repeated requests, were never presented to him, nor even to the Israeli authorities.

As a result of the publication, the Defense Ministry's defense export control department even questioned him, and no further proceedings were taken against him on any basis. A United Nations Security Council expert has examined the allegations and found no evidence and evidence of arms trafficking in South Sudan in recent years.

Gen. (res.) Israel Ziv: "I am very happy that justice was published. About a year ago without any prior warning, I was struck by a thunderstorm on a clear day, accusations that tarnished my good name and harmed me and my business without injustice. The time it took to conduct the inquiry with the US administration and the additional difficulties But I was convinced, beyond all doubt, that there was no basis for imposing the sanctions, which came from misinformation and that the decency and credibility of the US authorities would eventually lead them to the correct conclusion and truth - as I did in fact remove from any list and cancel The sanctions.

"Above all, I am happy that I can now rehabilitate the agricultural project we have been working on and set up in South Sudan. It is a project that produces livelihoods and nutrition for thousands of people in a destitute country. It is an Israeli venture of glory."
