After calling it "traitor" and "deserter" - MK Gadi Jibrakan shares: "I realized that the Ethiopian community just doesn't care about blue and white"

After calling him "traitor" and "defector" and preventing him from being interviewed for media - MK Gadi Jibrakan shares: "I realized that the Ethiopian community does not care about blue and white"

For weeks, Knesset Member (and future) Capricorn Jabarkan kept the story of what happened there with white and blue behind the scenes. Now, in an interview with Israel Today, which will be published this Friday in the "Shabbat" Supplement, he opens everything up and justifies the saying that there are two sides to each coin.

Jibran was a MK on the blue-and-white list who, on the day he submitted the lists to the 22nd Knesset, decided to move to the Likud party, right into the 20th place as Prime Minister Netanyahu's armor. He was ranked 33rd in blue in white, which today, according to the polls, is no longer safe. Political associates called him a "traitor" and a "defector," the party leaders said they were "throwing" him off a blue, but Yarkan on his part claims that in blue he was updated throughout the negotiations with the Likud, through MK Zohar And, he said, he chose to leave the party that introduced him to the Knesset after realizing that he had failed to deliver on his promises.

"The word betrayal is gentle compared to the slander I suffered," he says. "It is important for me to present my side so that the public will understand that if I was really an opportunist there was no further election - because I was the 61st MK missing from Netanyahu. When I went blue and white, I made the hardest decision. I brought with me tens of thousands of voters from the Ethiopian community. To tell them, especially adults, to vote for a party that is not Likud, is like telling Yitzhak Shamir to vote for Meretz. "Asked why he left Blue and White, he says:" They deceived me. I arrived at a goal to promote the rights of Ethiopian immigrants. When Talam came into blue and white, I believed it was the best platform for that. But the day I realized that the Ethiopian community was not a priority for blue and white, I broke down. "

In an interview with him, Yarkan claims that Benny Gantz did not take him seriously. "When Gantz tried to form a government, I asked him that the Ethiopian community be on the 100-day plan. He told me 'OK,' and then I found out that in negotiations with Amir Peretz, the Labor Bridge put the Ethiopian community on the table - and Gantz refused."

Yabarkan also shares his difficulties with white and blue because the list's speakers decided to boycott him and there were times when he came to television interviews and at the last minute was downloaded from broadcasts following a blue and white instruction to channels. Jibran says things were badly hurt. "Blue and white always took me for granted. It was always there in the air."

On the promises made by Prime Minister, he said: "I closed with the Prime Minister on promoting the community - housing, health and 7,500 people who will immigrate from Ethiopia in 2020-2021."

The full interview - this Friday at "Shabbat".
