The Holzkirchner Symphoniker always come up with something special for their carnival concerts. Once again this year they thrilled in the Tölz Kurhaus.

Bad Tölz - Without the otherwise popular elegant evening wear, instead wild and without fixed dress code, the Salon Orchestra of the Holzkirchner Symphoniker came together on Sunday evening for the carnival concert. The motto in the Tölz Kurhaus was "hotel stories": conductor Andreas Ruppert was dressed as a hotel page, and his musicians, too, served up as servants or guests of a hotel from yesteryear.

In three-quarter or four-quarter time they paid homage to the light muse from Johann Strauss to Franz Lehar, so that as a listener you could feel like you were in the "good old days", in the Sacher or in the Adlon.

Andreas Ruppert also gave the audience “partly true stories”, all of which were somewhere in the no man's land between the intellectual, “fake news” and “completely gaga”.

However, the salon orchestra did not make music off the track, but always in a rock-solid manner and hard on the musical text: with precise inserts, clean intonation and musical brilliance, the musicians produced a smooth sound image of a rousing elegance with which they delighted their audience.

"Easy muse" does not mean that such music is easy to play - and yet the ambitious amateur orchestra, which consists of music-loving professionals of all ages and retirees, left nothing to be desired.

After this musical fun with a lot of applause and much applause, the rehearsals will be more serious: On May 24th, the Holzkirchner Symphoniker will perform Ludwig van Beethoven's great anthem of freedom, his "Leonore Overture" number 3, and Robert Schumann's fourth symphony , (RBE)
