The remains of a teenager working in a wildlife park in Lahore in Pakistan were found Wednesday in the lion enclosure announced the management of the zoo.

" We found his clothes in the lion's enclosure, then his skull and bones when employees were feeding the animal, " Chaudhry Shafqat, the zoo's deputy director, told AFP.

The young man, Muhammad Bilal, aged 17 or 18 was doing odd jobs in the park. His parents alerted the zoo on Monday of their son's disappearance. The park official said he did not understand how Bilal ended up in the lion's enclosure, adding that a criminal investigation was under way.

There is a security fence, but it is used to keep the animals in their enclosure. " Visitors come by car all the time and we have never encountered such incidents ."

Saqlain Shah, a local police official, said investigators were viewing videos from surveillance cameras made available to them by the wildlife park to determine what had happened to the young man.
