The new coronavirus epidemic (commonly known as Wuhan pneumonia) continues. The government announced earlier that returnees from the Mainland must undergo compulsory quarantine on the 14th, and a large number of Hong Kong people have been stranded in the Mainland. The FTU received help, and some long-term patients failed to return to Hong Kong for follow-up consultations, so they launched the "Support for Guangdong, Fujian and Hong Kong people to send medicines", and cooperated with the Hong Kong government to mail doctors prescription drugs for Hong Kong people in the Mainland.

The operation was launched for the first time today (27th). A medical pharmacist was set up to re-examine the medicines at the scene and the staff of the SWD would check them. The medicines received are expected to be sent out that evening and can be delivered to Hong Kong people in the Mainland in three days Hands.

Shipped after 3 days excluding Chinese medicine and epidemic prevention supplies

The FTU stated that the action was enthusiastic. In just 3 days, a total of 715 citizen registrations were received. Citizens will be arranged to transfer the drugs to the FTU. The action is expected to take place until March. In order to ensure drug safety, the Hong Kong Pharmaceutical Association and the Pharmaceutical Service Fund have volunteered to send pharmacists to re-examine on the spot whether the formulas and dosages of prescription drugs, etc. are appropriate according to the records on the medical health. SWD staff conducted a final inspection at the scene and put a label on the drug to indicate how to take it.

Huang Guo, the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions, pointed out that the association has established 6 Mainland centers in Guangdong and Fujian provinces. It has always cooperated with the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau to provide permanent services for Hong Kong people in the Mainland. The Federation will use the local network to transfer it to Hong Kong people. He emphasized that the service is free of charge and does not care how much manpower and material resources will be used in order to do well at this special time.

Deng Jiabiao, a labor member of the Labor Advisory Committee, reminded the public that postal delivery only includes prescription drugs for western medicine, Chinese medicine, epidemic prevention supplies, and daily necessities. He also pointed out that all the medicines delivered to the Federation of Trade Unions will be sent out that evening, and it is expected that they will be delivered to mainland Hong Kong people in 3 days.

Life of Hong Kong residents stranded in the Mainland: business as usual

Mr. Zhao, whose father stayed in Shunde, pointed out that because he was worried that the customs would be closed, he brought with him three days of heart medicine for his father, describing his father's daily life as not having any problems.

Ms. Huang from the whole state had inquired at the post office and was told that she could only send a small dose, and it would take up to 14 days. She had also tried to personally send medicine to her mother in Shenzhen. She also pointed out that her mother's life was normal, and she believed that staying in the Mainland was safer than Hong Kong.
