The competent authorities in Daraa arrested two persons who used to exchange counterfeit foreign currencies and one of their partners in the town of Ma'riba in Damascus countryside.
In a statement, SANA received a copy of it, the Ministry of Interior stated that with the investigation of the two persons by the Criminal Security Branch in Daraa, they confessed that they brought in several forged sums of money and distributed them to several people for disposal.
The Ministry indicated that, based on the confessions of the arrested person, one of their partners was arrested in the town of Ma`riba in Damascus countryside, and by searching his house, he found fraudulent amounts of money in the US dollar.
The Ministry pointed out that the confiscated financial sums have been handed over to the Central Bank of Syria, and the search is still ongoing for the rest of those involved in the case to take the necessary legal measures against them, and work is underway to present the arrested persons to the relevant judiciary.
