Due to " a slight indisposition, " Pope Francis did not go, as he had planned, to the penitential mass of Saint-Jean-de-Latran on January 27, 2020, said Matteo Bruni, director from the Press Room of the Holy See in a press release the same day.
The Sovereign Pontiff " preferred to stay " in the vicinity of the Sainte-Marthe Residence, where he lives. It is the second time that the Pope has canceled a trip due to illness. On February 28, 2014, the pontiff had therefore rescheduled a visit to the Grand Seminary in Rome for similar reasons.
