Speaker of the People's Assembly Hamouda Sabbagh, during his meeting today with the ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria in Damascus, Hassan Touhami, stressed that the Algerian-Syrian relations are ancient and renewed, expressing great appreciation for the honorable positions of Algeria in support of Syria in the face of the terrorist war that is waging against it.
Sabbagh clarified that the main reason for the aggression against Syria is its refusal to compromise on Arab issues, foremost among which is the Palestinian issue, or the abdication and neglect of a seed of its national soil.
For his part, the Algerian ambassador in Damascus affirmed the depth of the relations between the two countries, especially that the struggle relations between the two brotherly peoples belong to the period before the independence of Algeria and the honorable stance of Syria with the Algerian people in the war of liberation and independence and said: And common national principles. ”
Ambassador Touhami praised the steadfastness of Syria's leadership, army and people in the face of the war against which it is waging, stressing the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the Algerian and Syrian parliamentarians in a way that leads to achieving the common interest of the two brotherly countries.
The meeting was attended by a number of members of the People's Assembly.
