INTERVIEW - The jihadist Reda Hame, lieutenant of Abaaoud, was sentenced at first instance to twelve years in prison. A sentence much lower than that required, which indicates a naivety on the part of the magistrates, judges the lawyer Thibault de Montbrial.

Thibault de Montbrial is a member of the Scientific Council of the War School and a lawyer at the Court. Last book published: "Le Sursaut ou le chaos" (Plon, 2015).

LE FIGARO. - The jihadist Reda Hame, presented as a Daesh recruit, was sentenced on Tuesday to twelve years in prison by the special assize court. What was he accused of?

Thibault DE MONTBRIAL. - Reda Hame is a Frenchman who left for Syria in June 2015, where he was trained in the handling of weapons in the ranks of the Islamic State. He was one of the lieutenants of Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the coordinator of the attacks of November 13, 2015. He then returned from Syria, at the request of Abaaoud, to carry out attacks in France, taking a complex trajectory in the countries of Eastern Europe so as not to attract attention. Arrested in August 2015 in France and then placed in pre-trial detention, he was tried for the association of terrorist criminals and faced twenty years of imprisonment. Sentence increased to 30 years in prison
