The case appeared in Tuen Mun Magistracy today (28th). The defendant does not need to answer for the time being. Acting Chief Magistrate Zhang Jieyi adjourned the case until April 22nd at the West Kowloon Magistrates' Court for the defence to obtain prosecution documents. The defendant was released on bail of 1,000 yuan. During the period, the defendant was not allowed to leave Hong Kong and had to report to the police station once a week.
The defendant, Huang Meiyun (52, a reported housewife), was charged with one count of obstructing office work. The charges allege that on August 31 last year, she was at the junction of Nathan Road and Shandong Street, preventing women police officers 12641 and 14079 from performing their duties. Only the police officer's number was listed on the charge, and the police officer's name was not disclosed; the defendant was arrested at approximately 4:30 pm.
