The beginning of the end ... For the second consecutive year, the growth in the number of contractual ruptures - amicable separation between an employer and an employee - approved by the public authorities has decreased in France. To the point of validating the theory of the famous "drop in the rise" , according to the expression made famous after the 2008 crisis by Nicolas Sarkozy on the unemployment figures ... In 2019, their number has indeed only increased by 1.5% - to still reach the record of 444,000 separations validated over 12 months - after increases of 3.9% in 2018 and 7.9% on annual average over the period 2014-2017.
In total, some 3.8 million contractual ruptures have been approved since their registration in August 2008 in the French labor code. A success making this device invented by the social partners the third modality of CDI endings in France, with a market share of almost 15% (far behind the resignations, beyond 50%).
