The number of amicable separations continues to increase, but less rapidly than in previous years.

The beginning of the end ... For the second consecutive year, the growth in the number of contractual ruptures - amicable separation between an employer and an employee - approved by the public authorities has decreased in France. To the point of validating the theory of the famous "drop in the rise" , according to the expression made famous after the 2008 crisis by Nicolas Sarkozy on the unemployment figures ... In 2019, their number has indeed only increased by 1.5% - to still reach the record of 444,000 separations validated over 12 months - after increases of 3.9% in 2018 and 7.9% on annual average over the period 2014-2017.

In total, some 3.8 million contractual ruptures have been approved since their registration in August 2008 in the French labor code. A success making this device invented by the social partners the third modality of CDI endings in France, with a market share of almost 15% (far behind the resignations, beyond 50%).
