To argue his criticism against the gondola bill, which he supported anyway, Senator Alberto Weretilneck measured the shelves of a supermarket and packages of various products to prove that the criteria for the exhibition proposed by the initiative are unviable .

" This law will not guarantee transparency or an improvement in the price of products ," said Juntos Somos Río Negro legislator.

Weretilneck rejected the parameters set by the project to avoid the dominant positions of the brands with greater installation in the market and enable the participation of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and family businesses. In fact, it was categorical against the law it supports.

Specifically, the text that already has a half sanction of Deputies and that this Friday was debated in the upper house indicates that it will be mandatory for large supermarkets to guarantee 30 percent of their shelves for the products of SMEs, micro-SMEs and for Family-made items

"This law that stays in half, abounds with what we already have, and that will generate a number of conflicts in its application," said the senator before exposing the results of his fieldwork.

Weretilneck commented that he was in a super Viedma, in which he did "some exercises" that consisted of taking the dimensions of the various items and the shelves where they are on display.

"I went to the noodle sector, majority consumption for all and especially for the population we want to allocate. The noodle sector was 7.5 meters long . So what did I do? I allocated 70% to companies that did not they are neither SMEs, nor regional micro-SMEs nor of family farming. I had 5.25 meters destined for the rest, theoretically to the big companies that with the law we say we are going to fight, "he explained.

And he continued detailing his results: "If I divide these 5.25 meters by 5 companies or five products from different factories that have to be presented, there is 1 meter left for each of the companies . Then, I started counting the products: monitos, tirabuzones, mostacholes, fetuchini, spaghetti and soup, to say the least, 7 products ".

" Each package of noodles is 17 centimeters wide , which means that each of the noodle-producing companies can place 6 products only, for 50 centimeters deep, there are 30 products. That is, it is absolutely impracticable, because it would require a replenishment system every hour or two hours. "

In his exhibition on the premises, Senator Weretilneck said he repeated the same process with other products such as jars of jams and oils.
