President Alberto Fernández pledged on Thursday to intensify efforts to reverse the situation of extreme insecurity facing Rosario and, after questioning the actions of the Police and Justice, warned that " Argentina has no more space to support the organized crime . "
"I know what happens with the Police of our country, with the Police of Santa Fe; with the Justice of our country, with Justice of Santa Fe. And we are going to do everything we need so that once and for all we leave to demand justice for one, for another, and for us to see those responsible for such a crime punished, "said the Head of State.
Alberto Fernández made these statements by leading the event to commemorate the first raising of the flag and remember the figure of Manuel Belgrano.
"I speak to you with this clarity and without half measures because Argentina has no more space to support organized crime or any crime," said the President.
Fernández revealed that he met with the relatives of Carlos Orellano, the young man who was found dead floating in the Paraná River and whose death was investigated by Justice.
" Rosario is a city where Justice has to do more than it does . I am here celebrating the day that Don Manuel Belgrano raised our flag. I am another Rosario when it comes to claiming more security and more justice. I am here to solve the problems of drug trafficking, the problems that organized crime has created in Rosario and throughout Santa Fe, "he said.
Then, he stressed that he will work with the governor and the mayor to "give the battle we must give because criminals have no right to take over the life of Rosario."
The President also summoned the Rosario people to demonstrate during the next celebrations of Flag Day, on June 20, to "prove to the crime that we are many more than we are not afraid of."
The president was accompanied by the governor of Santa Fe, Omar Perotti; the head of Cabinet, Santiago Cafiero; and the defense ministers, Agustín Rossi; Interior, Eduardo de Pedro; Education, Nicolás Trotta, and Culture, Tristán Bauer. Also present was the mayor of Rosario, Pablo Javkin, among other municipal and provincial officials.
