Frankfurt - A 70-year-old was found dead in his apartment in Frankfurt with a stab wound in early July 2019. "The subsequent investigation showed that the man had been the victim of a homicide and quickly led to the arrest of a 64-year-old suspect," said a police spokesman at the time.

Meanwhile, the Frankfurt public prosecutor has brought charges against a 65-year-old pensioner after the police arrested him. Attorney General Nadja Niesen said the allegation was loud homicide. The pensioner is suspected of stabbing his neighbor because of a disturbance in his peace. The reason is said to have been knocking noises, by which the alleged perpetrator felt disturbed.

According to the indictment, the pensioner had announced on the Frankfurt police phone that he would kill his neighbor. The pensioner is said to have stabbed his victim deep into the pericardium with the knife. At first interrogations, the pensioner testified that he had been attacked by his neighbor and acted in self-defense.
The pensioner has been in custody since his arrest. No trial dates have yet been set for the trial before the Frankfurt Regional Court.
