(CNN Spanish) - The Permanent Coronavirus Commission of the Ministry of Public Health of the Dominican Republic announced this Friday the suspension of direct flights from Milan, Italy, the Caribbean country for a period of 30 days as a preventive measure against the spread of the coronavirus in The European nation

According to Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas, Minister of Health of the Dominican Republic, four travelers, three Romanians and one Dominican, from Italy are under observation at the Ramón de Lara Hospital in Santo after presenting symptoms of the virus.

Sánchez Cárdenas added that they are waiting for the results of the tests to confirm whether or not they carry the virus.

According to the official, 60 people have been monitored in the country. Currently about 30 people remain under surveillance, mostly on an outpatient basis.
