A daughter of Nemesio Oseguera, aka El Mencho, one of Mexico's most wanted drug traffickers, has been arrested in Washington for her alleged involvement in financial operations to launder money from the cartel run by her father, Jalisco Nueva Generación, as reported Thursday U.S. Department of Justice Jessica Johanna Oseguera González, 33, known as La Negra, had been in the crosshairs of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in Los Angeles for some time. The arrest took place on Wednesday with the ingredients of a movie. Oseguera, who lives in Guadalajara (Mexico) and also has US citizenship, was in Washington because he was trying to see his brother, Rubén Oseguera, aka El Menchito, who was extradited to the United States last week for alleged crimes related to drug trafficking The same day that El Menchito responded to a federal judge and pleaded not guilty to the crimes, his sister was handcuffed, although it has not been clear whether the woman came into the courtroom.

The arrest of La Negra was due to an order issued on February 13 for its participation in five business entities indicated in 2017 by the OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) for supporting and remaining under the control of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel. These are the firms J&P Advertising SA de CV, JJGON SPR de RL de CV, Las Flores Cabanas, Mizu Sushi Lounge, Operadora Los Famosas SA de CV and Onze Black.

The two sons of El Mencho are now in the custody of the US authorities. Meanwhile, the DEA offers up to $ 10 million in reward for information that leads to the father's arrest. The cartel he directs was born as a cell of Sinaloa and today has become the most powerful in Mexico, with a presence in the United States, Africa, Europe and Asia. Oseguera is one of the three most wanted capos by the American justice, along with Ismael El Mayo Zambada (supposed right hand of El Chapo Guzmán) and Rafael Caro Quintero, accused of murdering the undercover American agent Enrique Kiki Camarena in 1985.
