The fire brigade requirements plan for Maisach is available. At first glance, the work looks not very exciting, but it contains some surprises. In addition, it is now clear that the community will have to invest a lot of money in the near future.
Maisach - After long discussions and a final workshop for all involved, the first fire brigade requirements plan for Maisach has now been presented to the local council. It is valid for the next five years and specifies what the municipality has to invest where. The fire brigades Maisach and Germerswang need a new vehicle this year. Next year, the aerial ladder vehicle for Maisach will have to be replaced (800,000 euros). It is time to rebuild the guard in Überacker (around 400,000 euros). In addition, the weirs of Malching and Germerswang should work more closely together in the future. And finally, the job is advertised for a fire department employee to support all six weirs.
As a starting point, a company had calculated whether all fire departments should be on site within the specified ten-minute period. For the Maisach fire brigade, the target achievement rate is 86 percent - in Gernlinden 91 percent. The other four weirs had too few deployments to be able to name a reliable number.
Improve alerting
Problems arise when the turntable ladder in Gernlinden is used as a second escape route: the corresponding vehicle is in Maisach, until it is in Gernlinden, an average of eleven minutes pass. The help period is therefore exceeded by one minute. In order to remedy this, the alerting should be further improved. In addition, the Gernlindeners will get a sliding ladder.
Another problem is that the Malching and Germerswang weirs have no water-carrying vehicle. Therefore, in order to be operational well in the west of the large community, the Germerswang fire brigade should receive such a vehicle (cost: around 300,000 euros) and use it in collaboration with its Malching colleagues. The two weirs are to cooperate with the crew and respiratory protection wearers. The tank fire engine for the Maisacher weir, which will also be ordered this year, costs 400,000 euros.
Next Überacker
The next thing for the fire stations is in Überacker. The conversion (including an extension of the common room, toilets and changing rooms for women) costs an estimated 400,000 euros. In addition, planning costs for the conversion of the Rottbacher Wache will be due in 2021. The fire station in Malching from the 1950s has to be completely rebuilt. Another location must be found for this.
The full-time fire chief, employee of the community, is to relieve the volunteers. For example when servicing and cleaning equipment. It is not yet clear where exactly it will be housed. But it is clear that a replacement hose washing system is needed for his work. That will cost around 100,000 euros next year.
Fire department officer Leonhard Hainzinger (CSU) praised the demand plan in the municipal council. It was a lot of work to get everything under one roof. Now the plan has to be updated every five years. Regarding the upcoming investments, he said: "The municipality is facing major tasks." The municipal council unanimously approved the plan.
