"Bianca" shook the Miesbach area properly. During the night on Friday, numerous trees fell from the hurricane. The fire brigades were in constant use.
Miesbach - While the district of Miesbach got off relatively lightly on 9th February during the storm "Sabine", "Bianca" really took it seriously on the night of Friday, 28th February. The gale swept across the region with gusts of 118 kilometers per hour and more (wind force 12). The consequences: uprooted trees that crashed into cars, houses and streets. A total of 26 fire departments had to deploy 56 times, reports the district office in a press release on Storm Night. Fortunately, nobody was injured.
"Bianca" affects train traffic
In order to relieve the burden on the integrated control center in Rosenheim, which is so much demanded by the many incoming emergency calls, a separate coordination center was set up in the Miesbach fire station between 9:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. The numerous operations were carried out from there.
Several storm accidents in the Tegernsee valley
The northern areas of the district were particularly hard hit. The residents of the Hartpenning district of Holzkirch were without electricity for about an hour at night, the district office informed. In addition, several roads had to be closed temporarily. The district of Schaftlach in Waakirchen was temporarily cut off due to a storm break on the streets. In the morning hours, however, there was free movement everywhere, reports district fire councilor Anton Riblinger: "Thanks to the numerous firefighters who worked all night, the district citizens can go back to work safely in the morning."
