2020-02-28T16:09:20.663Z

The ICD Golf Trophy and the ICD Challenge of the Grandes Écoles are deploying their big marquee for two competitions on the Golf de Chantilly course on April 2, under the banner of biodiversity.

For this 2020 edition, the ICD Business School chose the Golf de Chantilly as the framework for the ICD Golf Trophy and the ICD Challenge of the Grandes Écoles, Thursday, April 2. Particularly aware of the challenges linked to biodiversity, the Golf de Chantilly has been the subject of a study carried out by the National Museum of Natural History for three years which has revealed the existence of several ecosystems and a biodiversity of extreme quality. “We met the director of the Chantilly Golf Rémy Dorbeau, an exciting and passionate man with whom we talked at length about the environment and biodiversity, explained Sébastien Rabine, president of the association of the ICD Golf Trophy. We are considering how to compensate for our ecological footprint during the event and we have chosen our partners in particular based on environmental criteria. I am thinking in particular of Alexis Malard, CEO of D-Cube, specialist in the secure destruction of documents. ” The new school director of the IGS Group, Patricia Théry Hart, is also very involved in environmental issues as evidenced by her desire to organize conferences with researchers within the school. Inevitably made aware of the world of golf after having worked at the Alliance Française in Thailand (great country of golf), she immediately validated the continuation of the project: "For almost 20 years, the ICD Golf Trophy has become an event essential organized by our school with its partners, companies and institutions. In a very friendly atmosphere, this event will once again allow golf enthusiasts to meet, meet the students and the teaching staff of the ICD. ”

A place steeped in history

History also weighed heavily in the final choice of the Golf de Chantilly, with a Vineuil course designed in 1909 by the famous architect Tom Simpson. A dozen French Open races were also contested on the Vineuil route, embellished in 1991 with the Longères course. After several editions at the very select Golf de La Boulie, a magical break in 2018 at the Golf National, a few months before the Ryder Cup, and the very dynamic Golf de l'Isle Adam in 2019, the ICD Golf Trophy offers a new challenge around one of the most emblematic routes in France. “We studied the possibility of playing on other Ile-de-France courses and even a little further. But it is the Golf de Chantilly which stood out according to a dozen criteria, notably for its history and the quality of the course, ”justified Sébastien Rabine.

The Chantilly Golf Course is the ideal place to face the cream of student golf with an ICD challenge from the grandes écoles still as fierce. The friendly game format of the ICD Golf Trophy remains unchanged with a four player scramble. As always, there will be many new products on the fringes of the two competitions, concocted by the Bachelor Event Management students of the ICD. For the first time, a dinner will be organized on site, in particular to allow business leaders and students to meet in a friendly setting. Didier Évrard, founder of Golf Shop, will be the sponsor of this 2020 edition. Under Armor Ambassador, Jérôme Lando Casanova will honor the event with his presence for the second year in a row, to the delight of the hundred participants who will all entitled to their share of surprises ...
