Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed today in a telephone conversation with European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell the situation in Syria and Libya.
Russia Today website quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement that during the call, "the focus was on solving the crisis in Syria and Libya in accordance with the recommendations of the UN Security Council, and some aspects of relations between Russia and the European Union were discussed," noting that the contact was made at the initiative of the European Union.
Lavrov had reiterated during a press conference with Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn earlier today that Syria has the full right to eliminate terrorism in its territories.
