Customs seized on Wednesday near Dunkirk (North) a total of 130 kg of drugs, including 52 kg of heroin and 50 kg of ketamine, worth an estimated 3.3 million euros, in a Lithuanian heavyweight bound for Britain, the prosecution said on Friday.

Customs officials checked near the ferry terminal at Loon-Plage the cargo of a truck from a Lithuanian company transporting tiles. They discovered 27 kg of cocaine, 52 kg of heroin and 50 kg of ketamine there, said AFP the prosecutor of the Dunkirk, Sébastien Piève, confirming information from the Voix du Nord.

The Lithuanian driver, in his thirties, claims to have been unaware of the presence of these drugs, which were allegedly loaded in the Netherlands. The investigation entrusted to the Lille judicial police has so far failed to trace a possible sector and identify possible suspects. The driver, placed under judicial supervision, should be tried on March 30.
