2020-02-28T18:36:14.794Z

Before an assize court, they are no longer obliged to promise "to tell the truth", decided the Constitutional Council.

You do not need to be married for the bonds of loyalty that unite couples to be recognized in future by the assize courts. " The difference in treatment established by the contested provisions, which is not justified either by a difference of situation or by a reason of general interest, is contrary to the principle of equality before the law ", affirms the Constitutional Council which replied to a priority question of constitutionality (QPC). In short, the Sages of the Montpensier Gallery recognize that, whatever the form of the couple, "the moral dilemma" touches him as much " if he had to choose between lying or being silent, under penalty of prosecution, and telling the truth, for or against the cause of the accused ”.
