The Federal Police of North Rhine-Westphalia published the images from a surveillance camera. They are photos that can disturb you. In this case the traveler had a guardian angel. The 56-year-old survived the fall "unscathed", reports the federal police in Sankt Augustin.
Shock moment at the central station: man falls into the track bed
The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon (February 22) at Bonn Central Station. The 56-year-old wanted to take the regional train. But it was just starting. However, the doors could no longer be opened. With his dog in his arms, the man ran alongside the train and "hit the window furiously," said the federal police.
Then the shock moment: The man lost his balance and fell between the edge of the platform and the approaching regional train. The dog "landed" on the platform. Fortunately, the train driver noticed the accident and immediately initiated an emergency stop.
After the shock moment, the man climbs back onto the platform.

The alarmed emergency services still provided first aid measures on the platform. The accident victim (with a breath alcohol content of 1.6 per mille) only suffered grazes from the fall, reports the police. After being examined by an emergency doctor, the man refused to be transported to the hospital and was released. The federal police, according to its own statements, initiated an investigation into the disturbance of public companies. Only a later video evaluation by the federal police showed how an unknown witness helped the man from the track area.
Perilous! Trains are an underestimated danger
The federal police take this incident as an opportunity and warn of dangers at rail systems: "Unauthorized entry or crossing the tracks can lead to death" and refers to tips on correct behavior on the homepage of the federal police.
In the experience of the federal police, the dangers of trains are underestimated, as this case also shows: Before the eyes of the parents, a small child slid between the S-Bahn and the platform. The passengers react at lightning speed.
