There are full beaches in many places on the Mediterranean in summer. In Sardinia, the most crowded should soon be the end of a particularly popular one.
Rome (dpa / tmn) - Access to the well-known beach of La Pelosa is to be restricted for bathers in the north-west of Sardinia. According to Italian media reports, the number of visitors is limited to a maximum of 1500 per day in summer. So far, up to 5000 visitors a day were counted on the beach in high season.
It is also planned to introduce an entry fee of EUR 3.50 per person, which is to be charged daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from June to September. However, children up to the age of 13 should be exempt from it.
The beach of La Pelosa is located near the village of Stintino north of Alghero on the west coast of the Italian Mediterranean island. The renowned international travel guide "Lonely Planet" describes it as a "dreamlike picture of a perfect beach".
