The theater group of the St. Sebald Trachtenverein brings the play “D'Wahl-Lump'n” to the stage.

Egling - "D'Wahl-Lump'n" is the title of Peter Landstorfer's play, which brings the theater group of the Eglinger Trachtenverein St. Sebald to the stage. The play is, of course, highly topical, but raging all over the country, the local election campaign. It is about the fictional events surrounding the mayoral election in a municipality called Stöttham. "But it could also be played in one or the other town in our area," explains Josef Neumeier of the theaters.

Concerning the content: The municipal office of Stöttham is rather slow. Neither the accurate but also slow official Wimmerl (Manuel Probst) nor the newspaper-reading Mayor Irlacher (Pepi Hasch) tear themselves away when it comes to the concerns of the citizens. Not even now that the mayoral elections are just around the corner, after all, there is only one candidate. And so, as always, the waiting crowd in the anteroom, like Villmayerin (Katharina Huber), who needs a permit, and Kramerin (Julia Buchner), who applied for a pass three months ago.

The opponents in the “Colorado beetle in the blood sausage” affair can also be found there: as the defendant the butcher (Thomas Graf), as the plaintiff the Henschl (Simon Raß) and as a witness Rosa Datschl (Katrin Schulz). Likewise, the municipal councilors Heignmoser (Heinrich Schuller) and Krutznbichler (Markus Werner sen.) Pass the time until the next meeting.

But then the “Preiß” enters the stage and suddenly everything is different. The new citizen Gustav Stüder (Michi Kratz) brings momentum to the sleepy community: he declares himself as Irlacher's opponent and has quickly gathered the femininity of the village around him. But even the seasoned election workers from Irlacher come up with something for the suddenly sparked election campaign: A public speaking duel with the two completely different candidates, for which the Irlacher is thoroughly prepared by his wife Gretl (Ulli Repert).

What else the supporters of the two come up with and which candidate will ultimately win can be seen at the premiere on Friday, April 27th, from 8 p.m. in the Gasthaus zur Post. The proven theater team has been practicing under the new director Robert Werner since the end of November. The stage design was a special challenge, he says. The stage is divided into three parts to accommodate the mayor's office, the clerk's office and a waiting room. “The topicality of the plot and the successful wit of this first-class comedy by Peter Landstorfer are certainly the best foundations for an enjoyable one

Theater evening, ”says Werner.
