Health officials from the state of Washington, United States confirmed this Saturday that a coronavirus patient died. She is the first victim in this country, she lived in King County.

A press conference is expected in the next few hours to give more details of the case.

There are at least four cases of coronavirus in the United States, without any related travel history, health officials say, according to the NBC.

A woman in Oregon and a high school boy in the state of Washington are presumed positive, which means that their tests were performed at local laboratories, but the results have not yet been confirmed.

The other two mysterious cases are from California. An older woman in Santa Clara County who had been hospitalized for a respiratory illness tested positive for the virus but had no relevant travel history or contact with any infected person, health officials said.

"This new case indicates that there is evidence of community transmission, but the scope is still unclear," said Dr. Sara Cody, director of the county's public health department to CNN.

The other case in California is a woman from Solano County who is hospitalized at the UC Davis Medical Center and in serious condition. The two counties are about 90 kilometers away. The Santa Clara patient had not traveled to Solano County, authorities said.
