The King of Malaysia, Abdullah Nayaatuddin Al-Mustafa Bellah Shah, today appointed Muhyiddin Yassin as Prime Minister, succeeding Mahathir Muhammad.
A statement issued by the royal palace, according to Reuters reported, "Mohieldin will be sworn in tomorrow," explaining that he may win the support of the majority of members of Parliament.
Mahathir Mohamad had submitted his resignation to the King of Malaysia on Monday and announced the withdrawal of his party, "the United Aboriginal People of Malaysia" party from the ruling alliance of hope, followed by the announcement of his resignation from the presidency of the party known as "Persato" party.
