At least 210 people have died of corona disease in Iran, sources in the Iranian health system told the British BBC on Friday. Most of the victims are reported to be in the capital of Tehran and the city of Qum.
The number is six times greater than the official dead quorum released earlier today by the Iranian Ministry of Health, which is only 34 dead. The spokesman for the office, Kyanush Jahanpur, insisted he acted transparently and accused the BBC of spreading lies.
The disclosure came after a rising member of parliament accused the authorities of hiding data on the Corona eruption, and the United States expressed its concern that the Islamic Republic did not share information.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said his country offered help to Iran during the Washington Congress Committee today. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Musawi rejected the proposal. According to him, it is a political-psychological game by a country that is waging "economic terror" on Iran.
