At Roissy airport, concern is mounting among employees after a case of Coronavirus

A coronavirus case has been detected in an employee of the platform. But authorities say no contagion is to be feared

The coronavirus has undoubtedly appeared in Val-d'Oise. According to information from the newspaper Le Monde, an employee of a subcontracting company of the ADP group has contracted the disease. This employee, who would live in the department, apparently presented himself to the Bichat hospital in Paris (18th century). If this news is still very little documented (the authorities contacted did not want to answer us), it feeds an anxiety which seems to mount among the staff of Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport.

"The person was not contagious during his vacation"

"Many are afraid," confirms a representative of the Unsa union. "Employers are starting to inform more and more, but there are no more precautions than that taken. On the ADP side, we repeat that the recommendations of the regional health agency (ARS) are applied to the letter. Namely, permanent information for employees and travelers and the provision of masks for those who wish.

"The ARS told us that the sick person was not contagious at the time he made vacations at the airport," says ADP. The resident of Val-d'Oise concerned would have worked on the platform in early February, that is to say before the onset of symptoms.

Employees denounce a lack of precautions

The platform and the activity areas around it employ more than 90,000 people every day. Part of them resides in Oise, the department currently most affected by coronavirus. An additional reason for concern for the staff of the platform. Especially since some already denounce a lack of precautions. "To clean planes even from China, we are provided with gloves but still no masks," laments an agent from the company Acna.
