Novak Djokovic extended his advantage over Rafael Nadal, ranked second in 45 points, after both champions consecrated in Dubai and Acapulco, respectively, while Austrian Dominic Thiem climbed to the third step in the ATP ranking after surpassing Swiss Roger Federer
The distance between Djokovic and Nadal grew from 325 to 370 points in the standings. The Serbian, who scored 500 points in Dubai after beating the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final, was placed again above 10,000 points. Nadal reaches 9,850 after taking the Acapulco tournament.
Thiem, who did not compete this week, entered the top 3 for the first time in his career due to the loss due to Roger Federer's injury that forced him to give up the tour of cement and brick dust and caused him to not be able to defend his 500 points in Dubai, where champion of the last edition was proclaimed.
The Austrian is in third position with 7,045 points, Federer is fourth with 6,630. Among the top ten are no more movements.
The Australian Nick Kyrgios was once again the player who retreated the most, from 23 to 39, due to his short participation in Acapulco, where he defended the title and was eliminated in the first round, which caused the loss of 500 points. The biggest ascent was the American Taylor Fritz, finalist in the Mexican event, when he placed 24, his best historical position after climbing eleven positions.
Among Argentines, Diego Schwartzman remains in 13th place and remains the best, followed by Guido Pella, who lost nine positions and is in the 35th step.
