Bad Kissingen - In a head-on collision in Lower Franconia , a 19-year-old was fatal and a 62-year-old was life-threatening . The 19-year-old had encountered oncoming traffic with his VW Golf on a state road in the direction of Albertshausen and had collided with the Citroen of the 62-year-old, the police said on Sunday.

The young man died at the accident site near Bad Kissingen. The seriously injured was taken to a hospital by helicopter. He had to be freed from his vehicle with technical equipment that had been thrown onto the guardrail by the force of the accident.
A total of four cars were involved in the accident on Sunday afternoon, the police said. The drivers of the other two cars were slightly injured and taken to nearby hospitals as a precaution. The state road was completely blocked for the accident recording.
A fatal accident also occurred at Hebertshausen - any help came too late for a 21-year-old. In Essen, a senior citizen drove into a crowd at a bus stop and injured several people.
