A 22-year-old on the A8 lost control of her VW Lupo on Thursday. It crashed into a tractor-trailer and was seriously injured.
Hofolding - A rear-end collision occurred on Thursday evening at around 7 p.m. on the A8 between the Hofoldinger Forst and Holzkirchen junctions. According to the Holzkirchen motorway police, a 22-year-old from the Rosenheim district first came to the right of the road with her VW Lupo, brushed the protective barrier and then drove onto a tractor-trailer driving ahead. After the collision, the VW came to a stop across the road.
A8: Accident driver injured and has to go to hospital
Very little damage to property occurred on the semitrailer with Italian registration, whereas Lupo suffered total economic damage. The total damage amounts to about 3000 euros. The 22-year-old driver suffered a fracture in the leg. She was taken to a nearby hospital. The Hofolding volunteer fire department was on site with around 25 emergency services to secure and clean the scene of the accident. The roadway had to be temporarily blocked for the salvage work. According to the police, there were no noticeable traffic problems.
