A young man who was driving in a Sunday evening car in Besançon was shot dead and one of his passengers was seriously injured, the prosecutor's office said on Monday, a new shootout in this city, which has been undermined by the accounts of traffickers for several months.
At around 9:30 p.m., the vehicle of the victims had an accident in a street near the city center of Besançon. A second car stopped at its height and its occupants fired on the damaged car, the same source told AFP.

A man in his twenties was killed and a second man of the same age was seriously injured in the upper body. However, after being operated on, his vital prognosis would no longer be committed, said the Besançon prosecution. The identity of the victims is being verified, as well as the exact number of occupants in the two vehicles.
According to witnesses interviewed by the newspaper Républicain, a third occupant of the target car, armed, managed to flee. The investigators of the judicial police and the departmental security, in charge of the investigation, " do not exclude a link " with the incidents of the last months in the sensitive district of Planoise.
In this district of 20,000 inhabitants located to the west of the city, a territorial war against a background of drug trafficking and settling of scores has left a dozen gunshot wounds since November, according to the prosecution.
