The new coronavirus pneumonia virus, also known as Wuhan pneumonia virus, has continued to spread. From time to time, confirmed patients have taken taxis to the hospital, putting everyone in the industry at risk. The taxi industry held an anti-epidemic campaign today (10th). It plans to show each taxi how to use the "photocatalyst spray product" and distribute related products. It will also affix "sterilized" stickers to each taxi vehicle. So that passengers and drivers can identify. Recently, many restaurants require customers to measure their body temperature before entering. However, some taxi drivers admit that the relevant measures are not feasible in taking taxis, because even if they know that the passenger has a fever, the driver has no right to refuse to carry the car and has to adjust the windows as much as possible. Maintain air circulation, wipe the car diligently, and provide alcohol hand rubs for passengers.

The taxi and minibus industry today held the "Taxi Minibus Anti-epidemic Action 2.0" today to introduce sustainable measures to combat the epidemic.

The Taxi Industry Council of Hong Kong calls on volunteers from all affiliated clubs to set up different demonstration locations in Hong Kong in the short term to show each taxi how to use "photocatalyst spray products" and distribute related products; Sterilized "sticker so that passengers and drivers can recognize it and both sides are more at ease.

Industry: Hebei 18,000 taxis are disinfected

The chairman of the taxi trade council, Xiong Yongda, said that the photocatalyst is valid for three months and the goal is to ensure that 18,163 taxis in Hong Kong are sprayed with photocatalyst disinfection coating. In addition, 4,350 minibuses, 2,000 babysitters, and 7,100 franchised buses, including school buses, village buses, and cross-border buses, will be sprayed with photocatalyst.

In the face of the epidemic, in addition to the industry's support, taxi drivers have also taken care of themselves. Mr. Deng, who has been driving taxis for more than 40 years, said that even if the temperature has risen to more than 20 degrees Celsius in recent days, he will insist on opening windows daily to maintain air circulation. He also said that in the past, taxis that were only cleaned with water and tincture were changed to dew disinfectant and regularly sprayed with alcohol spray.

In terms of personal cleansing, Mr. Deng said that a towel with a disinfectant placed on the top of the pan would regularly clean his hands. In addition, he put the disinfectant hand rub provided by the car on the back seat for passengers to use at any time. As for masks, he said that he currently has about three weeks in stock and uses two daily.

Recently, many restaurants or shops require customers to measure their body temperature before entering. If they have a fever, they should not enter. Mr. Deng said that the taxi industry is hard to follow because not every passenger seat is convenient to detect the heat for passengers; more importantly, even if the passengers have a fever, the driver has no right to refuse to carry. For some confirmed patients who had taken taxis to the hospital, he frankly said: "No worry, no choice." If you need to go to the hospital, the window will be opened to the maximum. He also stated that he would try to avoid waiting at hospitals.

Another taxi driver, Mr. Zhang, also said that on average he would go to the hospital several times a day. He would also drive the windows all the way and clean the vehicle diligently, wiping it at least twice a day, and cleaning it when waiting in line. He said that if a passenger coughs in the carriage, he will wear a mask, but no one has refused to wear it for the time being. He also pointed out that he had heard that if the driver did not wear a mask, some passengers would not want to get on the car.

The Minister of Transport and Housing Chen Fan, who attended the same event, said that the transportation industry has entered the cold winter and it is hoped that with the photocatalyst spray, citizens and drivers can travel safely. "I hope that next time we meet, we can remove our masks and embrace each other." On-site demonstrations were spraying photocatalysts such as taxis and minibuses.
