The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Wednesday that the Covid-19 epidemic, which has infected more than 110,000 people worldwide since late December, could be considered a " pandemic ".

" We felt that Covid-19 can be characterized as a pandemic, " said WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus at a press conference in Geneva. He warned that "in the days and weeks to come, we expect the number of cases, the number of deaths and the number of affected countries to increase ."
