Which mayor is back? Does he have opposing candidates, and if so, how many? Who sends a candidate into the race, who is still wrestling with himself? For many citizens, the mayor election is the most important aspect in the local elections on March 15, 2020. Here is an overview of the candidates in the Dachau district.

Dachau
The local election campaign in Dachau started early: In autumn 2017, the CSU put Peter Strauch on the plate as a candidate for the OB. Under pressure to act, incumbent Florian Hartmann (SPD) also declared the next day that he wanted to run again. The ÜB sent Dr. Peter Gampenrieder into the race. Markus Erhorn threw his hat into the ring for the free voters. The Greens and the alliance for Dachau do not want to offer their own OB candidate, instead both groups go with SPD man Hartmann as their candidate. Whether City Councilor Wolfgang Moll (Wir) is still in the race for the City Hall executive chair is not yet clear, but is considered likely.

Altomünster
In Altomünster, Mayor Anton Kerle (CSU), who has been in office since 2014, will probably have to compete against his free voter colleague in the town council, Michael Reiter , in March 2020. Reiter has been proposed and must be nominated at the constellation meeting next week.
Bergkirchen
He is the candidate for mayor in Bergkirchen for everyone: Now CSU applicant Robert Axtner has also been nominated by the Free Voter Group. The father of two has been on the municipal council since 2014. He is to follow in the footsteps of incumbent Simon Landmann , who is no longer allowed to compete for reasons of age.
Dirt road
In Erdweg, Mayor Christian Blatt can confidently lean back in the local elections. He was only elected to office in 2017 after the death of Georg Osterauer. His term of office only ends in 2023.
Haimhausen
Peter Felbermeier (CSU) has been mayor of the Haimhausen community since 2008. The 51-year-old wants to continue working until 2026. However, he has several opposing candidates: Sabrina Spallek from Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and Detlef Wiese from the Haimhausen public vote.
Hebertshausen
The incumbent mayor Richard Reischl (CSU) is running for the second time for the mayor election - unrivaled. The nomination meeting of the CSU branch is next week. The FBB / FW supports his candidacy and foregoes a candidate for mayor, Reischl is not on the list of local councils of the CSU. Marianne Klaffki, SPD chairwoman, announced that the SPD will not put up a candidate.
Hilgertshausen-Tandern
There will be no mayor election in the municipality of Hilgertshausen-Tandern in 2020 because incumbent Markus Hertlein (WGHTG) is only half a legislative term in office due to the resignation of Hans Kornprobst.
Jetzendorf
Manfred Betzin (CSU) competes for the second time in Jetzendorf. The SPD and non-partisans have already signaled that they will not be running for mayors. The group "Free Citizens" does not yet know whether it will run for the municipal council election at all and will therefore under no circumstances provide a candidate for mayor. At best, the Greens could make the mayor election exciting, but they still have to be founded.
Karlsfeld
Stefan Kolbe (CSU) competes for the third time. In 2008 he was elected mayor for the first time. So far, only one candidate has been identified for 2020: Dr. Bernhard Goodwin (SPD). Greens and Alliance for Karlsfeld considered putting up a candidate for mayor. At the moment, however, it looks like it will remain in a duel. Without candidates for mayor, the FDP and free voters go into the election campaign.
Markt Indersdorf
The current mayor of Indersdorf, Franz Obesser (CSU), had until recently no challenger. One thing was certain so far: No parliamentary group that has worked with him in the municipal council since this term of office will nominate a candidate. What is still pending: The nomination meeting of the recently founded branch of the Green Indersdorf / Weichs. And that branch has now nominated Hubertus Schulz , a first opposing candidate.
Odelzhausen
Mayor Markus Trinkl is running for the second time in Odelzhausen. He probably has no opposing candidate. Trinkl is a party-free candidate and is nominated by the Free Voters and the Odelzhausen Citizens' Association (BGO). The CSU and the SPD have also announced that they will support Trinkl.
Petershausen
Incumbent Marcel Fath (FW) has signaled that he wants to start again. The nomination meeting of its free voters will take place on Friday, November 22, 7 p.m. in the sports home. Günter Fuchs (CSU) wants to know it again for the CSU. The administrative specialist Fuchs was Mayor of Petershausen from 2008 to 2014. In the recent local elections, he lost his office to Marcel Fath. Bernhard Franke (SPD) is also experienced when it comes to running for mayor. As in 2014, when he won 21.2 percent of the vote, the SPD man wants to become mayor in the upcoming election in Petershausen. The fourth candidate in Petershausen is Jürgen Junghans (FDP), who initially belonged to the CSU parliamentary group, was then non-partisan and is now running for the Liberals. Georg Franz Seitz takes over for the non-partisan citizens' association Petershausen (ÜBP).
Pfaffenhofen
Mayor Helmut Zech (CSU) has been in office in Pfaffenhofen since 2002 - and is running again. The general voters group Pfaffenhofen supports Helmut Zech. But he may get competition from the ranks of the local Greens Association.
Röhrmoos
In Röhrmoos Dieter Kugler competes again for the CSU. The SPD sends the parliamentary group spokesman, Wolfgang Götz , into the race. The Free Voters do not look as if they are going to post a candidate after the designated candidate Michael Wockenfuß has withdrawn his candidacy a long time ago. As was learned, the Greens will probably nominate a candidate for mayor at their nomination meeting.
Schwabhausen
Thomas Hack (UBV) is the youngest candidate who wants to become mayor of Schwabhausen. The 36-year-old father of the family is a candidate for the Independent Citizens' Association 85 247. Wolfgang Hörl (49), municipal councilor and third mayor, from Arnbach will be running for the free voters and the Arnbach civic block. The CSU has nominated Florian Scherf . The 50-year-old is the fraction spokesman for the CSU in the municipal council. Incumbent Josef Baumgartner from the Free Voters may not run in 2020 due to age reasons.
Sulzemoos
For Gerhard Hainzinger of the Free Voting Community Einsbach, the mayor will end on April 30, 2020 after 24 years. The current second mayor Johannes Kneidl (WGS) from Sulzemoos, who has been a member of the Sulzemoos council since 2002, is applying for his successor. He competes for the Sulzemoos community. The other groups represented there are unlikely to compete.
Vierkirchen
Harald Dirlenbach (SPD) competes for the second time. Completely unrivaled: CSU, Freie voters Vierkirchen and FWG Pasenbach do not put up their own candidates.
Soft
The CSU, SPD, free voters and also the recently founded Green Local Association Markt Indersdorf-Weichs have confirmed that there will be no candidate for Mayor Harald Mundl (WBV - Weichser Bürgervertretung), who is applying for a third term. Nothing is known about official support from the other parties for Mundl.
