Corona virus continues to make names in Iran: The number of people infected in the country has crossed the threshold of 10,000 people and the number of dead, according to official figures, has reached 429.

While the country's health services are preventing courses and hospitals from providing treatment and suffering from a shortage of equipment and manpower, the Iranian foreign ministry has applied to the World Monetary Fund for a $ 5 billion loan to boost the Corona outbreak.

This is Iran's first request from the World Monetary Fund since the 1960s and it indicates the depth of the crisis in which the country is located. Iranian Foreign Minister Muhammad Jawad Zarif acknowledged on social network Twitter that such a request had indeed been made, saying: "We have requested assistance from the mechanism in question as soon as possible."

Zarif added: "This airplane fund and its people must respect the mandate for which they were established, be on the right side of history and act in a rational and rational manner." Various reports in the country's media say that the fund has accepted Iran's request, but no official approval has been obtained. Even if Iran manages to get the necessary cash flow from the IMF, it may find it difficult to equip it to enable it to counter the spread of the virus due to US sanctions on its economy.

Meanwhile, Iranian media reported the death of a Revolutionary Guards senior Quds Force officer, Mahmoud Polark, commander of the organization's logistics system, from Corona's disease.
