"Everything crisis?", Ask the "Weilheimer religious questions 2020" - to show "ways in troubled times". In addition to top-class theologians, the former top politicians Theo Waigel and Wolfgang Bosbach come to the lecture series of the Catholic parish community.

Weilheim - Taking up "issues of the times" is, according to Martin Gregori, the head of the volunteer organization team, the claim of the "Weilheim Faith Questions". The impressive number of over 15,000 visitors who have come to over 50 presentations in this series over the past ten years - to speakers such as Paul Kirchhof, Claus Hipp or Gloria von Thurn and Taxis - shows how successful this has always been. "Left" politician Gregor Gysi was also there (and, alongside Munich pastor Rainer Maria Schiessler, caused the greatest rush of visitors in the history of "questions of faith").

Don't stop at complaining about the crisis

There is no question that this year's topic more than lives up to the organizers' aspirations: “Everything crisis? - Ways in Troubled Times “is probably the right title these days. "Where are women and men who know about 'ways in troubled times' and who have a sense of the next steps?" Asks parish priest Engelbert Birkle in his accompanying word to the series. Co-organizer Stefan Reichhart adds that no one wants to “stop at the crisis analysis or complain - it is important to us: what happens next?”.

Eberhard Tiefensee (67), professor of philosophy at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Erfurt, spoke at the opening on April 2 about “being a Christian in a society without religion”. On May 13, the religious sister Katharina Ganz (49), who holds a doctorate in theology, Superior General of the Oberzeller Franciscans and fighter for the admission of women to the ordination office, points out “Paths to a fraternal church”. And on June 16, Augsburg theology professor Franz Sedlmeier (65) will use the example of an Old Testament crisis story to show ways for today. Title: "The people of God between demolition and departure".

Impressive archive on 10 years of “Weilheimer religious questions”

But the "questions of faith" are not just about the Church. This year again, prominent politicians will come to the “House of Encounter” to discuss social issues: “Germany at a crossroads?” Asked the long-time CDU member of the Bundestag and sought-after talk show guest Wolfgang Bosbach (67) on 28 April To encourage "against resignation". And CSU leader Theo Waigel (80), former finance minister and “father of the euro”, has firmly committed to the topic “Europe where to? - Perspectives for an unsettled continent ”. However, the exact date has not yet been determined.

Exciting discussions are guaranteed again with the “Weilheimer Questions of Faith”, which are celebrating their tenth anniversary this year. The proud archive of this decade - with all speakers and topics, with photos and even press reports - can be found at www.weilheimer-glaubensfragen.de.
