(CNN Spanish) - The government of Panama announced this Thursday 13 new cases of coronavirus in the country, bringing the total number of people infected to 27.
"The new cases reported are the result of an active search among the contacts of people who have tested positive for the new coronavirus and others associated with people who have come from abroad, from affected countries," the government explained in a statement.
“Most of the cases correspond to people older than 40 years and 21 of them have not required hospitalization and are kept in home isolation. Furthermore, there are no cases registered in geographical areas other than those already reported by the Ministry of Health, "added the authorities.
According to the statement, "cruises with tourists from areas affected by COVID-19 will not be able to land on homeland without complying with mandatory isolation."
